Cherubs Restoration
Restoration work on the cherubs on the steps is now complete.
Hamish Innes, who carried out the work, explains what he’s done.
‘ After becoming loose and detached, the tail fin held by the hand of one of the cherubs was dismantled, cleaned and reconstructed. A missing foot was re-adhered and a missing toe was re-modelled. Yellowing previous repairs were removed, consolidated and sealed as were structural cracks to prevent future deterioration.’
